Hickenlooper hopeful for fire disaster order
Senator John Hickenlooper expressed confidence on Monday that Colorado will soon receive a federal disaster declaration to aid in the recovery from the recent wildfires that have devastated parts of the state.

Speaking at a press conference, Hickenlooper said he has been in close contact with federal officials and believes the state’s request for disaster assistance will be approved in the near future. Communities Awaiting Relief
Several Colorado communities have been severely impacted by the wildfires, with hundreds of homes destroyed and thousands of residents displaced. Local officials have been urging the federal government to expedite the disaster declaration to provide much-needed relief.
“We’re working around the clock to make sure help is on the way,” Hickenlooper stated. “The damage is extensive, and families need immediate support to recover and rebuild.”
