16-year-old killed in Hope Mills shooting
A teenager lost his life after a shooting incident occurred late Sunday night in Hope Mills, according to law enforcement officials.
The Hope Mills Police Department reported that officers responded to a call about gunfire around 11:30 p.m. on the 3500 block of Elk Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a 16-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the teenager.
Investigators are actively working to gather information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. At this time, no arrests have been made, and police have not provided details about possible suspects.
