Clark hopeful of returning for Fever against Sparks but may avoid back-to-back against Storm

Clark Nearing Return
After missing several games with a lower-body injury, Clark has been progressing in her recovery and participated in recent team practices. The Fever’s medical staff is monitoring her condition closely, and Clark expressed optimism about suiting up against the Sparks.
“I’m feeling much better and have been able to go through more of the team drills,” Clark said after practice. “I’m hopeful about playing, but we’ll see how things go leading up to the game.”
Managing Minutes and Health
With the Fever scheduled for consecutive games, the coaching staff is considering a cautious approach to Clark’s workload. The team wants to avoid aggravating her injury by having her play in both games of the back-to-back set.
- The Fever will face the Los Angeles Sparks first.
- The following night, they are set to play the Seattle Storm.
Head coach Christie Sides commented, “We want to make sure Katie Lou is fully healthy before she takes on a heavy load. Playing two nights in a row might not be the best decision right now.”
Team Impact
Clark’s presence on the court has been missed, especially her perimeter shooting and defensive versatility. The Fever have struggled to find consistency in her absence, and her return could provide a much-needed boost as they look to climb the standings.
“She brings a lot to our team on both ends of the floor,” teammate Aliyah Boston noted. “We’re excited to have her back whenever she’s ready.”
Looking Ahead
The Fever will continue to evaluate Clark’s status ahead of their matchup with the Sparks. While her return appears likely for that game, the team is prepared to rest her against the Storm if necessary to prioritize her long-term health.
