Blood Drive Details
St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church is hosting a blood drive on Saturday, June 8, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will take place at the church’s location, 1500 Brookdale Road in Naperville.
All individuals who donate blood during the event will receive a free pair of pajamas, courtesy of the church’s partnership with Versiti Blood Center of Illinois. The pajamas are available while supplies last.
Why Donate?
Blood donations are crucial, especially during the summer months when supplies often run low. The church and Versiti hope the pajama giveaway will encourage more people to participate and help meet the ongoing demand for blood.
- Each donation can help save up to three lives.
- Blood is needed for surgeries, cancer treatments, and emergencies.
- Summer is a particularly challenging time for blood centers due to fewer donations.
How to Participate
Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. A photo ID is required at the time of donation.
Comfort for a Cause
The pajama giveaway is designed to add a touch of comfort and fun to the act of giving. Organizers hope the cozy reward will inspire both regular donors and newcomers to roll up their sleeves and help save lives.
